PRODUCT PICTORIAL AND WALKTHROUGH

The plain rubber feet on the bottom of the case are perfectly serviceable, but lack the cachet of the gold audio cabinet styled units installed on the original Zero. Otherwise, the bottom is identical to the original, including the 80mm filtered, but fanless, opening near the center.

With the side panel removed, we can see that the front bays are virtually unchanged in design. With only the three fans pulling cooling duty, I'm concerned that side-facing HDD cage will prove to be too restrictive to effectively cool the expansion card area of the Zero 2. We'll discover how the design works during testing. The Zero 2 will hold six HDDs internally and there are two external 3.5” bays that can be used for hardies, floppies or any other 3.5” device. The five big bays should be more than enough for any user, and the interior features rolled edges to prevent any bloodletting during installation.

A brace along the side of the chassis also supports the PSU. The expansion bays feature replaceable covers and cards are secured with screws in the conventional manner. The interior is open and roomy, but the motherboard tray is not removable and there is a serious shortage of openings or niches to facilitate wire and cable management. It's going to be difficult to do a clean, tidy install in the Zero 2.

Drive rails are provided for floppy-style, HDD and ODD devices and sorted bags of hardware should make installation relatively easy. We'll see very shortly when we get to the installation phase.
