PRODUCT COMPOSITION

The Hades case comes in a sturdy carton with a glossy finish featuring graphics of the case and some of its features. Relatively complete specifications can be found on the sides of the box along with some handle cutouts to make moving the carton a bit easier.

NZXT packages the Hades in a plastic bag sandwiched between two Styrofoam blocks, with the shiny bits of the chassis further protected by plastic sheeting. This packing scheme seems to work well as the carton took a beating during shipment (evidenced by some dents and tears in the carton,) yet the Hades arrived in fine shape, both structurally and cosmetically.

Along with the chassis NZXT includes a fold-out manual, a big bag of thumbscrews, some tapes to secure the thermistors (more on this later,) a fan power adapter, three HDD mounts and a bag of hardware that includes a speaker and padlock tab.

PRODUCT PICTORIAL AND WALKTHROUGH

With the packing materials removed we can see that the Hades has some interesting lines, due in no small part to the front bezel that includes a unique looking door that incorporates a digital temperature readout to monitor various internal case temps. The top of the case has two fan placements that will accept two 120mm or 140mm fans but only a single 140mm fan is included. The left side panel has a “bump-out” that incorporates a trapezoid mesh opening on the leading edge and a 200mm side fan with an integrated mesh cover to help mitigate dust bunnies.

The top I/O paned features the customary audio, USB and eSATA ports, and while this is perfectly acceptable for the vast majority of users, I'd like to see the USB ports spaced a bit farther apart. The finish on the exterior is a semi-gloss black and seems to have a touch of metallic in the paint, and it matches the plastic front panel/door nicely.
