PRODUCT FEATURES & WALKTHROUGH (cont'd)
The left and right standard mouse buttons are incorporated
into the one piece top section which reduces the amount of parts that
can become faulty over time. Every mouse failure I have personally had
is through the mouse buttons sticking.
The mouse wheels and buttons are very easy to use and
require minimal effort. In the center of the buttons is the mouse wheel
along with the Cruise Control(tm) buttons which allow you to scroll
down large pages without having to keep on rolling the mouse wheel.
To the right of the lower cruise control button (in this photo) is the
Quick Switch(tm) button that allows you to quickly switch between open
tasks much like Alt-Tabbing in Windows.

What makes the MX510 a true performance gaming mouse is
the 800-dpi, 5.8 megapixel MX optical sensor with its high report rate
of 12-bits. Most comparable mice only contain a 400dpi sensor with a
lower megapixel rating and only transmit data at an 8 bit report rate.
The difference between 8bit and 12bit is close to three times the speed
and responsiveness. This translates into the user being able to move
the mouse at a rate of 40 inches per second without having the mouse
losing its precision.
Now, my thoughts on using this mouse in a pure windows
environment is simple. If it works it works and any optical mouse should
suffice unless you need a very precise mouse for AutoCAD work or any
other drafting application. You honestly will only notice a very slight
difference in movement. What you notice more is the functionality with
the extra buttons.
Now when it comes to gaming, hands down, this mouse is
awesome. The precision and smooth movement only helped my score when
I dove into my fragging binges playing BF1942. It didn't matter whether
I was flying a bombing run with a Mustang, or sniping off of a watch
tower, I just couldn't believe how well this mouse gamed. Mind you,
I am not implying that this mouse will take a nOOb and turn him into
a pro, but it will take out any error introduced by a slow mouse.
