CORPORATE PROFILE
Guillemot Corporation
Established in 1997, Guillemot Corporation set out as trying to compete
in the multimedia industry. As time went on the company began development
of video / audio components for the personal computer under the Hercules
name. The company is also responsible for the popular Thrustmaster game
devices, one of the first game devices to take advantage of force feedback
technology. Since then the company has established itself as a formidable
opponent in each market in which it competes.
Hercules
Acquired by Guillemot Corporation in 1999, Hercules was established in
1982 to provide the world with strong audio / video solutions for the
PC. The company has built graphics cards using chipsets from both NVIDIA
and ATI, along with boards using Hercules' own chipsets. However the Kyro
chipsets met with little success. The company has slowly grown into a
multi-faceted organization. Today, Hercules is responsible for two series
of soundcards, speakers, video cards, monitors, and digital imaging equipment,
making it the versatile, profitable company that it is.
PRODUCT INTRODUCTION

The Muse series soundcards started out with the XL and LT cards that
both featured 4.1 surround sound support. The muse card is Hercules' entry-level
surround sound solution, a budget card in essence. As budget cards, the
Muse cards are hard to beat in the price to performance ratio that they
sport. For $29.99, a user can get the ideal surround sound system in the
Muse 5.1; one of the best entry-level surround sound cards available.
