PRODUCT PICTORIAL AND WALKTHROUGH
With the packing material removed, we can see that the MonCaso has a very subdued, elegant presence. It's a rather large chassis, but the dimensions give a pleasing sense of proportion and the screen placement in the center, just above the ODD bay and surrounded by an aluminum “frame” is quite visually appealing. A mylar sheet taped to the screen gives further protection and I'd suggest leaving this in place until installation is complete. The top has two vents over the CPU and VGA areas, and the sides have some venting also, as we'll see when we get inside the MonCaso.
Here, on the left, we have the power button with its lighted ring accent and the IR receiver for the remote control unit. A cleverly disguised door just below…
…drops open to reveal the front ports.
The right side features the control buttons and the large volume/mute knob. The center ODD bay has a stealth button to activate the corresponding button on an installed DVD drive. There's a drop down door here, too.
This door reveals the memory card reader. It provides USB 2.0 support for Memory Stick/Pro/Duo, Compact Flash/Microdrive, Secure Digital/Multimedia Card, and Smart Media storage cards. Two LEDs on the left indicate card reader activity. The top power LED lights up when a card is placed in any of the slots, while the lower one flashes when data is being either read from, or written to inserted media.
