PRODUCT INTRODUCTION

The Memorex company has been producing high quality recordable disks, hard drives, and other goodies for over 40 years. The company has recently decided to try its hand at producing computer modifications as well. I will be checking out the latest and coolest mods to be released by the company as well as comparing them to some other mods to see how well the boys at Memorex have done. The purpose of this review will be to find out how practical Memorex's mods really are, how easy they are to install, as well as how cool they look!

The rounded Ultra ATA Cables look great and are good simple modifications for any case; replacing the cumbersome and airflow-impeding stock IDE cables. The rounded cable takes up a lot less space than the stock cable normally does because of the cable shape. This surplus of space created by the cable reduces constriction in the case while allowing your friends to stare slack-jawed and drooling at the awesome hardware that is normally concealed.

Fans and cooling are vital to the survival of your hard drives, processor and a number of other heat sensitive parts inside your computer. Evolutions in fan design have allowed fans to become more silent while moving greater amounts of air at the same time. The 80mm LED fan by Memorex is very quiet compared to most, and has a great air flow which makes it an ideal fan to own. It is made of clear plastic and lights up with blue LEDs while it spins, instantly transforming any boring desktop computer into a Rave-In-A-Box!

Cold Cathode lights have become the standard for any self respecting LAN party-animal, lighting up the insides of cases like Christmas trees. The lights do not get hot even after hours of being on, making them perfect for inside a computer. They come in a variety of colors, but the one I will be reviewing is blue and EXTREMELY bright (25,000k). The cold cathode by Memorex is strong enough to light up my room, so it should have no trouble illuminating the inside of my case.
