PRODUCT PICTORIAL AND WALKTHROUGH

Here you can see a cable end and its connector. The silver ring screws onto the male connector on the PSU, providing a very secure connection. The sleeving material is appealing in a military/industrial sort of way and attention to detail extends to the heatshrink application that insures the sleeves stay put.

Connectors for power distribution are plentiful and cable lengths are generous. All modern multi-graphic schemes are supported and there's plenty of wattage to be distributed by the cables.

The obligatory label offers some abbreviated specs, and the black fan grille protects the 150mm blue LED cooling fan.
PRODUCT INSTALLATION AND TESTING

For this review, Mr. Bones has chosen the following components:
-
MSI DKA790GX Platinum motherboard
-
AMD Phenom 9950 BLACK EDITION Agena 2.6GHz 140W CPU
-
OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) OCZ2F10662GK RAM
-
EVGA 8800 GTS 640MB graphics card
-
Western Digital WD3200 hard drive
-
Samsung SH-S203N DVD writer
Mr. Bones, while being very vain and shallow, has unimpeachable integrity and will be overseeing testing. Let's proceed.
Testing consisted of monitoring voltages from the +3.3V, +5V, and +12V rails while the system was at idle, and during multiple passes of OCCT on both cores while running loops of 3Dmark05. Voltages were monitored with a digital multimeter. Over several days of testing, including overclocks exceeding 22%, rails were rock stable and not one power issue reared its ugly head. The results are as follows:
The results were excellent and unsurprising, given the specifications. The measured voltages were very close to their respective targets and there was very little ripple on any of the rails. The fan was essentially silent throughout the several days of testing and, as one would expect from a PSU with this kind of efficiency, the Kingwin Mach 1 stayed cool as well.
The LED fan and modular socket lighting looks cool, too. This PSU will look great in a windowed case with a blue color scheme. Mr. Bones is very impressed by the blue glow, quiet operation and performance.
