CORPORATE PROFILE

Apple ignited the personal computer revolution in the 1970s with the Apple II and reinvented the personal computer in the 1980s with the Macintosh. Today, Apple continues to lead the industry in innovation with its award-winning desktop and notebook computers, OS X operating system, and iLife and professional applications. Apple is also spearheading the digital music revolution with its iPod portable music players and iTunes online music store.

PRODUCT INTRODUCTION

Digital music is everywhere. In an amazingly short time, the MP3 format has grown from being a difficult to encode, shoddy sounding format only suitable for the first generation of 32 and 64mb players to a fine alternative to a physical media format. Other file types have emerged, which give even better quality, such as FLAC and AAC. Of course, if you want to listen to your digital music, you need a player.

Last week, Apple announced the newest version of their popular iTunes software. Being an admitted iTunes junkie, I grabbed it as soon as it was available. Today, I'm taking a hard look at the new iTunes 7. Let's see if it's still a worthy contender in the digital media player world.
