INTEL CORE I5-661 INTRODUCTION
Until today, AMD has firmly held a firm foothold in the lucrative lower cost PC market where the consumer needs a computer that doesn't necessarily have to be the fastest available. With that being stated, the Intel i5-661 Clarkdale processor allows Intel to offer budget conscious buyers an option to own an Intel based system without having to shell out hundreds of extra dollars for a processor that has way more power than they will ever need. With Intel's first 32nm manufacturing implementation on a consumer based processor, the die size reduction has allowed Intel to have the real estate to add the functionality of including a on chip video solution as well. So with one purchase which is to be around US$100, you get a decent dual core hyper-threaded processor and a basic videocard.
Just to prepare you and to lay the cards out on the table, this processor is not meant to break speed barriers. it is meant to bring an affordable all-in-one processor and video solution on one chip to allow budget minded consumers to build an affordable computer and for OEM system builders to finally have an Intel option to compliment AMD's relative domination of the bargain chip market.
