CONCLUSIONS AND AFTERTHOUGHTS

To sum it up, this is a handy product for both laptop users and enthusiasts who are considering a solid state drive for their main rig. It has a simple design that does exactly what it's supposed to do – provide a safe, secure and cool housing for a 2.5” SATA drive. The $20 price tag won't break the bank either.
The unit may be constructed of plastic, but I honestly have no complaints about the build quality. It is sturdy and provides plenty of ventilation for heat to escape. There are only two mounting holes on each side of the unit, but it should be enough for installation in just about any modern PC case. Icy Dock even included four screws with the package so there's no need to hunt around in your toolbox for spare ones.
The included documentation is rather poor but since this product is so simple to use, it should not be an issue for most users. As a final note, this converter is compatible with all Icy Dock 3.5” SATA HDD enclosures as well as many other 3.5” SATA enclosures currently available.
Pros:
- Simple to use
- Works as intended
- Good build quality
- Affordable
Cons:
- Poor documentation
