Choosing a career the computer industry also means I was elected to become full-time tech support for my family. I can't count the number of times I've had to add, remove, or otherwise change files on the family PC for one reason or another. With all the gadgets out there, one can choose any number of ways to transfer files from one hard drive to the next.
Perhaps the easiest and most common method of performing smaller file transfers would be to use a USB flash drive. I almost always carry one with me, but it has a limited storage capacity. Another option would be to use a portable hard drive or to take an internal drive and install it into an external enclosure. Those devices have a small form factor too, but still lack the portability and durability of a flash drive.
For the PC technician (or any computer user) who frequently works with file storage, there is yet another option for quick and easy hard drive access - a hard drive docking station. Icy Dock has sent Tweaknews a review sample of their MB881US-1S-1 docking station to check out, so let's open it up and see what it can offer.
