PRODUCT PICTORIAL AND WALKTHROUGH

Like Icy Dock's MB664 enclosures, the MB561 series of enclosures is constructed of both aluminum and plastic. The top and sides are aluminum, while the front and rear bezels are white plastic. The size of the unit is relatively compact for having four bays. Overall, first impressions are very good.

The absence of buttons on the front bezel gives it a nice clean look. The four trays (each with an activity LED) and ventilation holes towards the bottom is all to speak of here.

Pushing down on the gray button releases an aluminum lever. The lever swings out and then the tray can be removed. There are no locking mechanisms to prevent the drives from being tampered with, so make sure the enclosure is stored somewhere safe.

With all the trays removed, we can get a good look at the SATA connectors inside. The combination of this open interior with an 80mm cooling fan will help to ensure the drives stay cool.

At the back is a USB 2.0 port, eSATA port, and on/off switch. The power supply for the unit is internal, so there is no separate power brick to mess with. The exhaust fan is removable by squeezing a tab on the bottom of it.
