PRODUCT INSTALLATION AND TESTING

Unlike other backlit keyboards that have light visible between the keys, this one only illuminates what you need to see - letters, numbers, and symbols. This results in a much classier look in my opinion, even though when looking at it from an angle the lighting appears to be slightly uneven. It's not noticeable enough to make a big deal out of though, honestly.

Testing

Even though this is a gaming keyboard, I decided to start with some basic typing of documents in order to familiarize myself with the layout. I'm glad I did. It was a bit awkward initially when I went to reach for keys such as delete; the placement is different and it's easier to accidentally press another key since everything is closer together. This is just the simple reality of small keyboards expect a period of re-learning where some keys are located as well as some accidental pressing of various keys in the process.

Typing turned out to be a pleasure. The keys are soft and quiet, but still have that tactile feedback that I prefer. It's really very nice. My hands didn't feel cramped at any time, and the two stands on the back raised it up at a nice angle. No wrist rest is included so if you're a fan of those you'll have to provide your own. So far, this seems to be a great keyboard for general use.

When it comes to gaming, minimalist users will be the most pleased. There is no software so that means no advanced configurations. However, if you don't care about macros and just want something that will get the job done well, this is the answer. Playing Left 4 Dead with this keyboard was great. The keys are quiet and won't disturb others in the room, and I found response time to be instant for a lag-free gaming session. Plus, you get anti-ghosting technology on 11 of the most important keys (including WASD). I don't use the function keys a whole lot, but if you do, be aware that they are kind of small and close to the top row of number keys. This could be an annoyance or no big deal depending on your personal preference. After gaming for a couple hours I was wishing for a wrist rest, but other than that my hand was comfortable.
