CONCLUSIONS & AFTERTHOUGHTS

The HD4890 iCooler x4 edition from HIS can be easily summed up as a performance bargain for US$179 at the time of this review. For those not interested in DX11 gaming and its related expensive videocards, the HD4890 is still a potent performer for the enthusiast gamer. The card tested today with its excellent heatpipe cooler and stellar overclocking performance should be considered over paying $50 more for a different name brand built off the same reference design. If you are questioning the brand, I have tested a lot of HIS videocards and NONE of them have EVER failed over the years of testing.
Add in that there a full version game supplied in the box, this videocard is a fantastic value. At first, when I was presented this card for reviewing, I thought it was a vanilla basic HD4890 like the rest of the cards on the market. But no, it is a premier model videocard for discounted mainstream market money.
When you factor in the performance, the cooling, the overclocking potential and the value, this by far is a Top Rank product.
Pros:
- Excellent performance
- Overclocking
- Free Game
-
Build quality
- Full Hardware and Software Package
- Price
Cons:
- Cooler Cools the GPU only
- Poor availability
