PRODUCT PICTORIAL AND WALKTHROUGH

We'll start off our pictorial tour at the rear, since this is where the most obvious innovation is located. As you can see, there are eight USB 2 ports here along with a port for charging any device that supports USB charging (1.0 A maximum.) Why a separate charging port? Because it's live 24/7 regardless of system status. Internal switching takes care of input voltage and a manual power switch flanks the power cord socket.

Hiper has not included modularity in the feature list of the 680W, possibly in a successful effort to obtain this power supply's outstanding efficiency. All the cables are sleeved in a black mesh material that covers the wires all the way into the case, and all access holes have grommets to protect the wiring. I really like seeing this kind of attention to detail in a product.

The 135mm cooling fan has a chrome finish and has an RPM range of 1000 to 1800. Low speed and a sleeve bearing promise quiet operation without compromising cooling performance. Cooling is further enhanced by the mesh panel design and the chrome grille and Hiper logo an some visual interest here.

Always a big fan of reflective surfaces, the extremely vain Mr. Bones likes the black chrome finish very much. I have to admit that it looks very nice, too.

The obligatory label gives some abbreviated specs, and the UL number identifies the manufacturer as “HIGH PERFORMANCE GROUP LTD.”
