Editor's Addition: This power supply failed shortly after the review was completed and all efforts to contact Hiper failed. Emails were not returned in a timely matter and overall their customer support was horrible. They would reply, and then do nothing. If this is how they treat a member of the press reviewing their product, I would hate to see how horrible their service to an average consumer. Be warned and I would spend my money elsewhere. This is not a company I would trust to back up their product when it fails.
I get a fair number of power supplies in the lab for evaluation and, for the most part, they aren't the most exciting products I get to look at. While the PSU is one of the most critical elements in a system build, they just aren't very sexy. Most of the time, anyway. Hiper has a new power supply on the market that promises a bit more excitement. Stay tuned as we take a look at the Hiper Type R MKII 680W PSU and some of its attractive and innovative features.
