PRODUCT INTRODUCTION
Ok, I admit it. I'm a control freak. When it comes to
my computer I want to control everything that I can, especially temperature
and fan noise. Virtually since its inception, Thermaltake has been a
significant player in supplying quiet cooling solutions to the PC enthusiast.
The first Hardcano was one of their earlier products and was basically
a hard drive cooler with a fan and some temperature sensors designed
to occupy a 5.25 inch bay. From these beginnings the Hardcano has added
features, dropped features and changed appearance many times in its
evolution into the Hardcano 13 we're going to look at in this review.
The Hardcano 12 generated a lot of excitement and got rave reviews when
it was introduced last year, let's see if the 13 proves to be a step
up the evolutionary ladder.
PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS AND FEATURES
Specifications for the Hardcano 13 are very similar to
its predecessor but include a couple of new features. In addition to
the familiar four temperature sensors, four fan speed control and alarm
function, a 6 in 1 card reader (supporting CF, SM, MMC, SD, MS, MS PRO,
Microdrive) and a redesigned display with your choice of eight backlight
colors have been included.
