PRODUCT PICTORIAL AND WALKTHROUGH

The GX700 has a very distinctive look. The blower-style fan and shroud are purple plastic and set low to minimize height.

The fifty aluminum fins are securely connected to the heatpipe and mechanically attached to each other closer to the base. While lightweight, the GX700 doesn't feel flimsy in the least. Part of the plastic shroud extends under the fan to help promote air circulation across the ramsinks and surrounding components.

The aluminum base is flat, but still shows some circular machining marks. As you can see, it shows no reflection from the green anodized ramsink. The base sports two “wings” that have threaded mounting holes.

Wow! Those ramsinks are a wild shade of green! They're almost iridescent. The backing plate, screws and nuts are chrome-plated steel, and the screws have rubber o-rings in place from the factory. This will come into play later, during installation. ZEROtherm has also included a small tube of thermal compound. In previous reviews, I've found this compound to have excellent thermal properties. During testing I'll be using the tried-and-true Arctic Silver 5 for continuity, but users can expect great results with the included product.
