CONCLUSIONS AND AFTERTHOUGHTS

This case works well for a basic HTPC build and supports both Micro ATX and full ATX motherboards, but unfortunately there are a few shortcomings that keep it from being a fierce competitor in the case market. The inclusion of a remote, internal card reader and PSU add a lot of convenience but with only 220W of power, hardware must be planned out accordingly. No manual or software is included so users are on their own with the entire setup process. This is fine for advanced users who probably have software planned out ahead of time, but might leave a novice scratching their head.

Despite some annoyances, there were things I enjoyed about this case. It's one of the lightest HTPC chassis I've worked with and it looks good sitting amongst other A/V equipment. Cooling is adequate, although not great, and the blue LEDs on the fans and power button add a nice touch and aren't too bright.

In closing, I'd have to say this is a good choice of case if older hardware is used and the machine will be used for basic media functions such download and playback of music and video, and storage of media files. More advanced functions such as HD recording and playback push hardware requirements up, and that's when it will be time to look at a more versatile HTPC enclosure.

Pros:

- Lightweight
- Low profile design, nice looks
- ATX and Micro-ATX motherboards supported
- Built in card reader
- PSU included

Cons:

- PCI card installs require adapter
- Underpowered PSU, proprietary design
- Front panel connectors are not labeled
- No manual or software included
- Noisy fans
