PRODUCT PICTORIAL AND WALKTHROUGH

Since ear buds rest inside your ear, comfort is a big concern. Thankfully you have your choice of three different sizes of soft end tips to help give the most comfortable fit possible. You also have the option of using black or white tips. They are easy to change out, just pull the old one off and put the new one on.

The carrying pouch is a bit different than what is included with other G-Cube products. It is smaller and more durable, but I don't particularly care for the gold color. In fact I'll go ahead and say I think it's ugly. It matches the ear buds well, but blue would've been a better color choice in my opinion.

PRODUCT USE AND TESTING

Comfort

Before using the ear buds, I would recommend trying out all three sizes of end tips to see which one provides you with the right balance of a comfortable but secure fit. As per usual, it was the small size tips that worked out the best for me. They are not meant to be inserted far into the ear canal (and the manual also states this), but they should fit secure enough that they won't fall out when you move around. With three sizes of end tips to choose from, most people should be able to find a comfortable fit.

The ear buds didn't feel any lighter or heavier than other sets I've used, and they never felt like they would fall out while I was doing chores around the house. As far as ear buds go, they are just as comfortable as any other set.

Testing

I took this set of ear buds on the same test run as the previous set from G-Cube I reviewed. My first listen was an audio book. Like any set of in-ear headphones, ambient sounds around me became slightly muffled. This is a good thing because it allowed me to focus more on what I'm listening to. With an audio book it was particularly nice to have less background noise, and the quality of the sound itself was very good. Voices were crisp, clear, and well balanced.

Even though some outside noise was muffled, I was by no means cut off from the world. I could still hear people around me talking , car horns honking, etc. It just wasn't as pronounced.

I listen to lots of different types of music from pop to heavy metal to dance to rap. After a few days of listening to all different types of music I was left pleased with the sound quality. It sounded very similar to the Metallic ear buds I previously reviewed. Highs and mids are strong without being too bright and again, the bass actually thumps pretty well. It's not anything that will blow your mind, but it's good. Overall the sound is clear and balanced and I only had to make very minimal equalizer adjustments to get good sound. Don't expect perfection or the level of acoustics you'd get from a higher end set of ear buds, but for $30, the sound is impressive and the average user will be happy.

Durability

Like any set of ear buds, these are not indestructible especially since this particular set has embedded crystals. Common sense is required when transporting them, so the carrying case comes in handy store both the ear buds and a small portable media player might fit in there too. When it's time to go out, I can toss the whole thing in my purse and take it with me. Since I've been using the ear buds, I would say they are as durable as any other set in this price range and the cord seems to be even stronger than on some ear buds I've used. I wish the cord wasn't quite so long, though.
