PRODUCT INTRODUCTION

Today I'll be reviewing the Chaintech FX5500. This card sports 256MB DDR and a 128-bit memory interface... not something typically found on an FX5500 card. The package it comes in is fairly scarce, but that's the point. What Chaintech wants to do is provide you with a good card that won't drain your bank account. To do that, they have to keep costs down. As is always the case, people drool over the top of the line enthusiast video cards that cost a small fortune. If you've got the cash, then more power to you. Go forth and buy, buy, buy.

As for the rest of us working stiffs though, we'll just shop around for the best deals, do our research, and buy what we need... not what we crave. At $100, this card may very well be that deal. Let's see how she performs.
