CONCLUSIONS AND AFTERTHOUGHTS

FSP Group's Zen 400 is one of the very few silent power supplies on the market today, and has proven to be an excellent PSU during testing. With an 80 PLUS Bronze efficiency rating, a distinct look and great performance, this is an excellent product for the silent PC niche market. However, as with most niche products, the Zen 400 comes at a premium. While the Zen is widely available at etailers, the price may give the consumer pause as this product will cost between $125 and $150 US, making it two to three times as expensive as a similar PSU with a fan. A three-year warranty sweetens the deal a bit, but when one considers that there are some very quiet power supplies on the market at less than half the cost, only the extremely dedicated silent PC enthusiasts will find this a good value.
