As a very popular computer upgrade, an attractive computer case can bring a rather bland looking computer system up to a level which you can show off to your friends. With several makes, models, materials and configurations available, the one option that is often overlooked is the affordability. My personal opinion is that cases can be a good upgrade to a certain price point. If you go too expensive, you could be forgoing a more practical upgrade like an increase in ram or maybe a CPU upgrade. Everyone in the computer case market should weigh their wants and needs and make sure they don't go overboard and get sucked into some options that they will never need or ever really use.
