Installation & Conclusion

Now, on to the installation which in the case of psu's is an easy upgrade. Take out the old, while removing and relocating any support brackets from the old power supply and onto the new one and connecting up all the power connector in your computer, it's just that easy.

Here is a pic of my old power supply just before it was ripped out and replaced.

And, a pic of the new enermax power supply installed nice and clean.

Now, with respect to the real advantages of this power supply is that the secondary clear fan will be right over the CPU HSF in my orientation and this could be a much needed cooling boost in getting rid of CPU heat and exhausting it out the back. Another pro is the minimum voltage fluctuation on all the voltage channels. The maximum the voltage jumps or drops on any of the channels is maximum 0.05-0.1 volts even under full-load conditions. This in turn will greatly greatly stabilize your overclock whether it is multiplier and/or FSB dependent.

Remember the long cables I mentioned before, if you don't have a fulltower and have a mid-tower like myself, you are in for a treat. After connecting all of the power connectors, you are going to be left with about a foot or more cable that you are going to have to find a place in your case to place.

My only option is too tuck it in front of the power supply and block one of the cooling vents in the front. This causes a little bit of air flow restriction in the case and restricts some of the air flow going out of the power supply. Maybe 2 varieties of Enermax PSU's should be put into construction, one for full towers and one for smaller cases, just a thought.

CONCLUSIONS

Overall, I am pleased and satisfied with my purchase of this PSU. It has brought stability to my overclocked computer system, aided in cooling my system, added the ability to add more power hungry components to my system. If you are considering possibly setting up a water cooling and/or peltier setup, I would reccomend going for the 450 watt or the 650 watt model for that extra power consumption of those advanced systems. But for me, this one does it's job quite well =D.

Pro's:

-Dependable
-Extra Fan for added case cooling
-Low Voltage Fluctuation
-Good appearance (gold fan guards and clear fans)

Con's:

-Power Connector Cables are way too long for mid-tower applications
-Price is a little high for some of the enermax models

OVERALL SCORE: 8.5/10 (TWEAKNEWS RECOMMENDED)
