PRODUCT COMPOSITION (cont'd)

The tool-free card retention mechanism is sturdy and well designed. It’s also removable so that users can choose to mount cards in the conventional manner if desired. Copper shielding is also a nice feature included here. Both fans have 4-pin connectors and a single-wire three-pin connector for motherboard speed monitoring.

Front panel leads are clearly labeled and of generous length. On the far left, marked “micro sw” is a lead connected to a switch at the bottom rear of the case, which acts as an intrusion alarm (security feature #3). If your motherboard supports this feature, an alarm will sound if the case panel is removed.

USB, Firewire and audio connectors for the corresponding motherboard pin headers are provided in gang-plug configuration for easy installation. The manual has detailed diagrams of each, and should be checked against the motherboard manual to insure compatibility. The cables are long enough to make installation a breeze, as we’ll see later.

Connecting this harness to the PSU powers the front lighting effects.
Let’s install some hardware.
