PRODUCT PICTORIAL AND WALKTHROUGH

The design of this enclosure is fairly simple with a steel outer shell and plastic base. The front faceplate is also made out of plastic and is meshed for extra cooling.

Both sides of the unit sport an Eagle/Consus logo. Eagle Tech has several sub brands of products, and Consus is the name of their series of external enclosures.

Moving around to the back we have our connectivity options, all clearly labeled. You have your choice of using USB or high-speed eSATA for transferring files. Rounding out this area is a port for the power adapter and an on/off switch.

The base isn't an optional component since it holds the outer shell together, but it is very effective at keeping the unit stable while it's on your desk. Four rubber pads keep it from sliding around. In order to gain access the inside, we're going to have to unscrew five Philips screws from this base.

Removing the screws allows the casing to pop open and the drive tray will then slide out easily. The front faceplate fell off during this process, but that's not a huge deal since it clipped right back on.
At this point we're ready to install a drive, so let's move on…
