PRODUCT INTRODUCTION

DFI has been known in the hardware industry and community
to be a strong player in the OEM and lower price point performance mainstream
mainboard market. Thanks to all us performance enthusiasts out there,
our united power is shifting the focus of most peripheral component manufacturers
to take advantage of a blossoming performance market which day by day,
month by month, is slowly encroaching and taking over the OEM sector.
DFI is a great case example of this trend where they were
focused on the OEM market, but due to the market shift, they wanted a
piece of the performance pie. Enter DFI's Lanparty series of performance
motherboards which take advantage of the Intel 875P Canterwood Chipset,
the Via KT400A and the nforce2 Ultra chipset. Encompassing all three of
the arguably fastest motherboard chipsets readily available today, DFI
released a surprising onslaught of top end motherboards into the retail
market.
Today, I will be reviewing the only Intel based Lanparty
motherboard, the PRO875
and will put it through its paces to see if it belongs in this higher-end
market, or whether it was a high-calibre shot in the dark.
A couple pages of reading and photos will tell the story,
and I really hope you enjoy this review....
