PRODUCT PICTORIAL AND WALKTHROUGH (cont'd)

Deepcool includes one of their UF140 fans with the Ice Matrix 600 and the sleeved fantail terminates in a 4-pin connector to support the fan's PWM functionality. “But my mobo doesn't have any four-pin headers,” you might exclaim. No worries. The fan will work perfectly fine when connected to a three-pin mobo header, you just won't be able to take advantage of the PWM control. Besides the stylish center hub and blue blades, it has some other interesting features.

Each of the nine blades has three raised speedline features. One might assume that these somehow improve the airflow or dampen noise, but Deepcool says that they are purely aesthetic and offer a unique visual effect when the blades are spinning. Notice the blue ring inside the frame?

This is the TPE feature incorporated into the fan design. In the photo above you can see the hybrid design where the strong blue plastic core is surrounded by a softer, vibration dampening material to minimize fan noise being transferred to, and amplified by the cooler's fin array.

Mounting solutions support all modern AMD and Intel sockets, and the unique hardware for each brand is segregated in separate bags with the common parts and thermal compound occupying a third. AMD users will have to remove the OEM retention bracket and backplate. Deepcool includes four fan clips and a power adapter to use two fans on the Ice Matrix 400, but only a single fan is supplied and there are some other fan adapters in the accessory pack as well.
