PRODUCT PICTORIAL AND WALKTHROUGH

The main unit consists of an aluminum radiator and tubes leading to the pump/waterblock module. Tubing to and from the radiator unit is permanently attached to the fittings, making this a sealed, no-maintenance system and the tubes have a spiral feature to prevent kinking. Power for the pump is delivered via sleeved wiring terminating in a 3-pin power connector.

The copper base, with its pre-applied TIM, comes with a protective plastic cover. Lugs around the perimeter of the housing give the block a gear-like appearance, but are integral to the mounting mechanism. We'll get to that a bit later.

There's not much information available on the fan, but the mounting solutions are well documented in the installation materials included with the H50. We'll go over these items in more detail during the installation section of this review. In fact, let's get right to it.
PRODUCT INSTALLATION AND TESTING

Our testbed for the Corsair H50 will consist of the following hardware:
-
Intel Q6600 Kentsfield Core2Quad CPU
-
Western Digital WD800 hard drive
-
Western Digital WD6400 hard drive
-
Samsung SH-S203N DVD writer
-
Buffalo Firestix DDR2 RAM (2 X 1GB)
-
EVGA 8800 GTS 640MB graphics card
-
Thermaltake Toughpower 750W PSU
We'll test it in the open case pictured above.

I removed Corsair's thermal compound prior to testing. While I'm sure it would do a fine job, my associate Mr. Bones insisted on inspecting the base finish. We'll be applying AS5 during testing to provide continuity. The base is quite flat and, while the H50 lacks the highly polished finish seen on some coolers, I'm sure this is perfectly serviceable.
