With PC components becoming ever more power hungry, the vast majority of aftermarket companies are going after a piece of the high-end power supply market. Coolmax, while no stranger to the PSU aftermarket, has recently made a push into the upper realms of this demanding and lucrative niche. I've used several of their 350-500 watt units in budget builds in the past and been very satisfied with these products. For more demanding builds I used PSUs from other suppliers in the belief, perhaps mistakenly, that the Coolmax units of the time weren't up to the task.
Coolmax has recently released a 1200 watt monster onto the market, the CUQ-Series Green Power. They've sent an example of this product to the Tweaknews lab for evaluation, and I'm curious to see how it performs. Let's get right to it.
