CONCLUSIONS AND AFTERTHOUGHTS

CoolIT Systems guaranteed a cooler video card after installing this fan, and it did indeed do the job. The results were not as great as I was hoping for, but that was mostly due to unforeseen incompatibilities between the case and the fan. Even a slight drop in video card temperatures is welcome especially when the install is so easy (in a compatible case) and the price is an easy to take $15- $20 US. It would be nice to see this product tweaked a bit more so it can be easily installed into cases that use tool-less expansion card slots. At the very least I'd like to see CoolIT include something in the product description stating that it can't be used on such a chassis without some modifications. More and more cases are going the tool-less route which is going to make this fan difficult to implement in a lot of systems.
Pros:
- Affordable
- Easy to install in the right case
- Useful to squeeze an extra few MHz out of an overclock
- Sturdy construction
- Effective Cooling
Cons:
- Loud fan
- Difficult to install in cases using tool-less expansion card slots
- Short power lead
