PRODUCT PICTORIAL AND WALKTHROUGH

The UCP 900W has a very distinctive finish that, along with the stenciled “ULTIMATE,” give it a military/industrial look with just a touch of sparkle in the wrinkle coating. I'm not sure what this coating is, but it's very durable and I like it a lot. This unusual styling will be right at home in some of the newer cases with that industrial theme that's becoming more popular these days. Just make sure that it will fit in the case of your choice. At 7.5 inches long, it may be a tight fit in some budget cases.

This look is carried right around to the fan treatment. The 120mm thermally controlled fan lives behind this grill with four black socket head screws and a Cooler Master emblem in the center.

The label is on the “bottom,” opposite the fan, and lists the I/O spec. The UL code lists Cooler Master as the manufacturer. If you look near the bottom of the label, you'll see the following: “As sealed stick was removed, lost or damaged, it shall be out of warranty validity!” I'm assuming that this means that if you remove the sticker, the warranty is void.

At the rear, we find a power switch, the PFD LED (Power Failure Detector will light up when OVP /OCP / OPP / SCP / UVP /OTP occur) and the power cord socket. Notice anything different back here?

As you can see, the cable and socket are rated for 16A. This shouldn't be an issue for anyone using this PSU….as long as you don't misplace the cord. It will be a bit difficult to find and relatively expensive to replace. The power cord itself is a bit longer than most (6 feet) and packs three 14AWG stranded wires. Very nice! Just don't lose it!
