PRODUCT INSTALLATION AND TESTING

Installing the SNA 95 couldn't be easier. The only tricky part is assuring that you have chosen the correct tip for the laptop at hand. The tip just plugs into the cable and an indexing flat assures that one can't reverse polarity. The tips are quite secure and the entire system is about as foolproof as Cooler Master could make it.

Just for grins, I connected my Dell Inspiron 1545 (not on Cooler Master's supported list) and my old Sansa to the SNA 95. As you can see, the Sansa is charging and the blue LED on the SNA 95 confirms this.

My Dell, however, refused to play nice with the adapter, recognizing it but refusing to allow it to charge the battery. I suppose Dell has a reason for this behavior, but I would suspect it has more to do with selling adapters than anything else. I may be wrong…but I don't think so.

On the plus side, if there is one, the laptop was able to chug along at full power while attached to the SNA 95 and battery levels remained constant. Switching over to my Dell Inspiron E1505, and keeping the black tip, I got much better results with full charging functionality.

However, trying to charge my Sony Ericsson W580i Walkman phone was not successful. No charge and no blue led on the adapter. Bummer! I was really starting to like this little device. After this result, the SNA 95 becomes highly suspect and I would be very disappointed if I had purchased this device and it wouldn't charge my cell phone.
