Here you can get some appreciation of the Sileo's classic good looks. The aluminum front bezel fas a brushed finish and, like the rest of the case, has a black finish. The case features five big bays and a floppy-sized bay available for external devices. Just below the IO panel, the power and reset buttons are accented by a blue LED, the only lighting bling on the case. The top and side panels of this chassis are featureless and unremarkable, and for good reason. We'll see why a bit later.

Front panel IO is more than adequate for this case and consists of two nicely spaced USB ports, the customary audio ports and an eSATA port.

The rear panel is also relatively conventional. The rear 120mm exhaust fan can be replaced with a 92mm or 80mm unit, though I'm at a bit of a loss as to why one would want to do so. The seven expansion bays have replaceable covers and two thumbscrews secure the side panel.

Four silicone rubber feet isolate vibrations and protect the desktop from scratches.

With the side panel removed, we can see the acoustic foam that Cooler master has pre-installed in the Sileo 500. It covers both side panels, the bottom…
