BENCHMARKING
*Note: This motherboard is neither meant for high performance nor
is it intended to compete against the higher performing processors of
today. This platform is intended to be a cost effective, mini-itx form
factor solution for multimedia and/or home based office applications.*

The testbed will consist of the following:
EPIA m10000 with 1Ghz C3 CPU
EPIA CL10000 with 1Ghz C3 CPU
Common Components to Both Setups
256Megs of Crucial PC2700 DDR333
Maxtor 30gig ATA-133 7200rpm Harddrive
Benchmarking will be done using the following software:
SiSoft Sandra 2003 Professional
- CPU Arithmetic Benchmark
- Memory Bandwidth Benchmark
- File System Benchmark (Harddrive)
SISOFT SANDRA 2003 PROFESSIONAL CPU ARITHMETIC BENCHMARK (Dhrystone
ALU)

SISOFT SANDRA 2003 PROFESSIONAL CPU ARITHMETIC BENCHMARK (Whetstone
FPU/iSSE2)

SISOFT SANDRA 2003 PROFESSIONAL MEMORY BANDWIDTH BENCHMARK

SISOFT SANDRA 2003 PROFESSIONAL FILESYSTEM BENCHMARK (HARDDRIVE)

As you can see, neither of these motherboards are screamers
in any form, but, they are not meant to be. What I am impressed with
is the fact that VIA seemed to have tweaked the BIOS a bit to allow
for some better performance. Every single component was identical other
than the actual motherboard used and as the graphs illustrate, the CL10000
performs quite a bit better than its' older brother.
