PRODUCT PICTORIAL & WALKTHROUGH (cont'd)

Beside the two heatsinks you will find the two ATA133 channels and the main power connector for the motherboard. Immediately adjacent to the IDE connectors is the single DDR266 memory slot which is capable of utilizing up to 1Gb of PC2100 DDR memory.

There is no AGP slot, but if you want to add a possible cable TV card (review coming soon), you have one PCI slot to use. Now give this some thought, wouldn't having the motherboard actually contain a coaxial cable TV connector be a real good idea? This would truly make this a full function multimedia platform.

Now the main differences between the CL10000 and the M10000 is the lack of any digital audio/video output. They have been replaced with two additional USB 2.0 slots and an additional RJ-45 LAN connector. With dual LAN capability, you can easily turn this motherboard into a versatile firewall or a cost effective network file server. Other than that, the audio has been chopped down to two channel stereo.

As you can very well see, the CL10000 is aimed more towards the cost and space efficient office environment. With such a small computing platform, you could strap the computer under the desktop and free up more desk space too clutter up with even more paperwork. ;)

Really folks, if all you are intending to do is office applications, email and internet surfing, the EPIA platform will have plenty of power.

Rule of Thumb: You do NOT need a 3.0Ghz system to run office applications. If someone tells you differently, then they are just trying to screw you out of your hard-earned money. Too many people in today's computing world are brainwashed with the fact that they think they need the top of the line computer to type a letter in Microsoft(r) Word. Save a thousand bucks and go on a trip, fix up the house, hell, go take your wife on a shopping spree........................oh god, I'm whipped. =(
