PRODUCT INSTALLATION AND TESTING (cont'd)

Upon logging in, you are presented with six different configuration options. Clicking on the diagram you want will take you to the respective page inside the interface to set it up.

The router option works exactly as one would expect. It allows wireless clients to share an internet connection. I use a PPPoE connection at home and all I had to do was enter in my user name/password combo for my wireless devices to have internet access.

If you just need a wireless access point for your network, the unit can do that too. Simply click on the tab and enter in an SSID and set up security, and you're ready to go.

In repeater mode, the unit connects to an existing wireless network to extend coverage to a wider area. Just like with an access point, functions like firewall, IP sharing, and NAT functions are all carried out by the “main” router when using this mode.

The WL-330N3G is certainly small enough to be a wireless network adapter, so I can see this mode coming in handy for a lot of users. I tried it out with my Xbox 360 and got great speeds – it was fast and stable enough that I was able to stream an HD movie on Netflix with no lag.
