From a hardware standpoint, enthusiasts will be pleased with this router. It's powered by a Broadcom 4718A (clocked at 480MHz) and supports third party firmware such as DD-WRT and Tomato. The unit has 128MB of RAM and 32MB of flash memory, and the three antennas are removable and upgradeable. There is one caveat for some – the RT-N16U is only a single-band (2.4GHz) router.
