PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS

Hardware wise, the RT-N12 sports a Broadcom 4716 chipset with 32MB of RAM and 4MB of flash. While not the most impressive specs we've seen from an Asus router, it will be fine for shoppers on a budget. Something else to keep in mind is that this is a 2.4GHz single-band router only - it cannot use the 5GHz band.

PRODUCT COMPOSITION

The packaging is the typical Asus blue and white color scheme with a photo of the router splashed across the front. Specs and features are listed out on the back of the box for potential buyers to check out. Pricing on this unit is currently a reasonable $40 US from online retailers.

Opening the flip-top box reveals just the router; the remainder of the accessories are found underneath the cardboard compartments. No Ethernet cable is included but the buyer does get the standard fare AC adapter, installation CD, quick start guide, and warranty information pamphlet.

Editor's Addition: Our sample didn't come with an ethernet cable but Asus informed us that the retail product does indeed come with one.
