Asus included a few different software programs with the DRW-24B1ST - Nero 8 Essentials, Asus E-Hammer, and Asus E-Green. Links are also provided to download firmware for the drive and to check out the quick start guide.

Nero 8 Essentials is a CD/DVD burning program that provides all the basic functions most users will need. From this start page you can choose to burn a data disc, video disc, or copy an entire disc.

Also included is a cover designer so you can design custom covers for your CD and DVD cases. Templates for slim packs, mini CDs, and biz cards are available too.

The E-Hammer software is used for deleting the contents of a writeable CD or DVD. “Easy delete” will erase most data from the disc and no optical drive will recognize it, but with the right software some data could possibly be recovered. For a permanent solution, choose “total delete”, which erases the data with no chance of recovery.
