APPLE CORPORATE PROFILE (From Apple)

Apple was incorporated in the state of California on January 3, 1977.

Apple ignited the personal computer revolution in the 1970s with the Apple II and reinvented the personal computer in the 1980s with the Macintosh. Today, Apple continues to lead the industry in innovation with its award-winning computers, OS X operating system and iLife and professional applications. Apple is also spearheading the digital media revolution with its iPod portable music and video players and iTunes online store, and has entered the mobile phone market this year with its revolutionary iPhone.

PRODUCT INTRODUCTION

There are few companies that can claim to have a name brand that is so dominating with respect to a certain electronics component that you would be hard pressed to find any generally informed person that doesn't know about it. That brand of component goes under the heading of "iPod". In fact, I would put money down that the iPod name is more well known than the company that makes this ever-popular MP3 player.

Now to introduce how I finally came in the market for this tiny MP3 player was through a practical need for a small MP3 for weight training. When at the gym, you see a lot of people with MP3 players strapped to arm bands, belts, neck-slings or some people just carry them around in their hand. This just wasn't going to cut it for me. I needed something that I could easily clip to a set of gym shorts and completely forget about it until I need to take it off. I borrowed a friend's small creative MP3 player and it was nothing less than a pain in the butt to use while working out in various positions. While I was cursing the MP3 player loaner I was using, I looked up to see another fellow gym user enjoying his small iPod shuffle so I decided to walk over and ask him how he liked it. He smiled and said it was "perfect".

Needless to say I went out that night and picked one up myself and after two weeks of daily use have realized that this has been one of the most worthwhile purchases I have made in quite some time.

The following pages will show you why.
