CONCLUSIONS AND AFTERTHOUGHTS

If you frequently stare at a monitor for hours on end while working or gaming, eyestrain is likely a common annoyance. Thankfully, you can treat your eyes to a bit of relief with the Soundscience Halo Bias Lighting kit. It installs on any monitor up to 24" and only requires a single USB port for power. Six white LEDs create a subtle glow that helps to reduce eye fatigue when working at a computer for long stretches of time, and the effect looks pretty cool too.
The adhesive on the light strip is durable enough to last through a few rounds of removing and replacing it, but I'm not confident it will hold up in the long term if it's constantly moved between monitors or repositioned. At only $13 though, it's affordable enough to replace the strip or use some additional double-sided tape to secure it.
In the end, most people won't find this light kit to be a must buy, but it's a great stocking stuffer for the techy person on your Christmas list or as a treat to yourself when you purchase a new monitor. It's a simple, inexpensive concept that does make a difference.
Pros:
- Quick, painless installation
- LEDs shine at a comfortable brightness level
- USB powered
- Helps reduce eyestrain
Cons:
- LED brightness can't be adjusted
- Adhesive may weaken after several rounds of removing/reattaching
