CONCLUSIONS AND AFTERTHOUGHTS

Well, there you have it. I think the results of the testing really speak for themselves. AMD has gone the extra mile to provide the consumer with a quality HSF that is compact, quiet and cools damn well. It's refreshing to find a bundled cooler that can stand up to some modest overclocking, and do it pretty quietly. As I mentioned above, this cooler is only shipped with AMD's line of dual-core processors where their cooling potential will probably be taxed a little more than I did here. If you want one for your Athlon 64 or Opteron CPU, they are available on a certain online auction service, and with demand, prices are rising.
Buy yourself a retail Athlon X2 or Opteron X2 and you'll get one free (well, as free as anything gets in this business)! Otherwise you'll have to get one at auction, or from a less-informed “friend”, like I did.
Pros:
- Free with qualified purchase
- Good cooling
- Quiet
- Impressive design and execution
- Thermally controlled fan
- Compact
- Relatively lightweight
- Easy installation
Cons:
- Not included with lower-end AMD processors (yet)
