PRODUCT COMPOSITION & SETUP(cont'd)
Other than the powercord, you pretty well have these two connections
to make
Insert the orange connector from the satellites into the subwoofer, the
green connector into the speaker out of your soundcard, and plug the system
in and viola! A complete system, simple eh?!
Now the choice is your whether or not you want the satellite speaker
stands attached or not. I recommend that you do try them out. The increase
in angle directs the sound to a more favorable listening level.
CONCLUSIONS AND AFTERTHOUGHTS
I am going to cut to the chase, these are amazing speakers, there
is nothing I have tested out of the 6 systems I own currently that even
come close to the sound quality of these. Hmmmmm... the only set that
would beat them would be there bigger brother, the 251's that I will be
reviewing shortly, they can be found HERE.
I especially loved watching DVD's on my one system with these attached,
the sound was awesome to say the least. Now, to the critical side of the
review, there one thing that I would like Altec Lansing to consider adding
to this system to make it even better. There is a definite need to put
a subwoofer volume control on the back of the woofer. This would, in my
mind, put the cherry on the top of this overall package. This product
receives our highly touted "Top Rank Award", to give it any
less, and I would be short changing it. In Canada, Future Shop has just
released these onto the store floors for $79.95 Canadian which is a GREAT
bargain for these speakers. What are you waiting for , GO BUY THEM!!
Pros:
- Amazing sound Clarity
- Great Looks
- Very Good Bass
- Solid Construction and Quality
- Compact Construction
- Very Inexpensive
Con's:
- Needs a subwoofer volume control
- Maybe a slightly bigger subwoofer?
