AI Technology has brought an excellent product to the market with its Cool Silver thermal paste. It outperforms the best in its class and is very easy to apply. It's also available for sale now and competitively priced at around $6 for the 3.5g package, making it a very good value. Cool Silver lives up to AIT's claims and this product should do very well in an increasingly competitive market niche. Customer support is also a strong point in favor of Cool Silver, with installation and technical information availability on par with its chief rival.
So, should you throw out your old TIM and rush out and get some Cool Silver? I wouldn't. One should keep in mind that the performance increase offered by Cool Silver is likely to be small, much as AS5 is just a bit better than some other pastes. If you're looking for, say a 10C improvement, you'll be disappointed with Cool Silver, but you'd be expecting way too much. On the other hand, when my Arctic Silver supply ran out, I'd more than likely give AIT's Cool Silver a try. You should, too.
