PRODUCT INSTALLATION AND TESTING

Once the adapter is powered on, we need a way to find it on the network. This is done by running the SDisk search utility on the setup CD. If you need to refer to the quick install guide or the full manual, it's also on the CD.

The adapter was found on my network instantly. From this little java based program, you can click on the “connect” button to load the web interface where further tweaking can be done.

Some basic information is displayed upon logging in, and before the attached drive can be used, it must be formatted (even if it was formatted previously).

Formatting the drive is done on the Disk Tool page. With the click of the “format” button, the drive is formatted and you can optionally scan the drive and display some basic information about it.
