PRODUCT WALKTHROUGH & PICTORIAL
Let's take your eyes through a virtual tour of the SyncMaster 920T.
As with any LCD monitor, THIN is IN. Flat panel monitors are not as desirable if they don't fulfill what they have been released onto the market to accomplish. They are an option to save space on your desktop and rid your work area of the bloated CRT monitor that held so much of your table top hostage for so many years. As seen in the photo above, the panel itself is just under one and a half inches thick.
The overall depth of the complete monitor in its full standard viewing configuration is only eight inches. A standard 17 inch CRT monitor has a minimum depth of 17+ inches which will show you another reason why these monitors are getting more popular. With a monitor this small, there is no needs for that huge desk in your office.
The monitor bezel is 1 1/8 inches wide on the left, right and bottom sides and the top and bottom is under 1 inch. The bottom section of the bezel houses the main control panel for accessing the monitor control keys. Moving left to right you will have the following.
Menu Key - Access the monitor menu. I won't be getting into specifics with the main menu settings seeing they are all the same and most have the usual manual movement and fine tuning controls.
MagicBright Key - Allows access to the six preset contrast and color reproduction settings. You have Custom, Text, Internet, Game, Sport and Movie. This button also serves as the down navigation button. I personally love this button and it makes contrast and brightness changes basically a one touch change.
Brightness Control / Up Navigation Key - Allows access to the brightness control for fine tuning and for upward navigation through the menu items.
Source / Return Key- Swap and detect different video sources and the return button is for initializing chosen settings.
Auto Key - Auto Configuration setup button. If needed, it will set and calibrate you screen perfectly.
Power Key - Power the unit on and off. Monitor is incredibly fast to power on and off. Complete power on cycle takes only two seconds.
The back of the unit is remarkably void of anything to note other than the odd lack of any sort of cooling vents or openings. Touching the back and sides will show you just how cool this large monitor runs. Even after hours of use you will barely be able to detect any heat if you have any sort of air flow in your office.
