CORPORATE PROFILE (from Intel)
For more than three decades, Intel Corporation has developed technology
enabling the computer and Internet revolution that has changed the world.
Founded in 1968 to build semiconductor memory products, Intel introduced
the world's first microprocessor in 1971. Today, Intel supplies the computing
and communications industries with chips, boards, systems, and software
building blocks that are the "ingredients" of computers, servers and networking
and communications products. These products are used by industry members
to create advanced computing and communications systems. Intel's mission
is to be the preeminent building block supplier to the Internet economy.
PRODUCT INTRODUCTION

As everyone has observed in the last two years or so, the CPU cat and
mouse game has been quite entertaining with both major chip manufacturers
trying to leap frog over each other and into the lead. Now, I won't
be rehashing the past history and giving you the blow by blow from the
past megahertz race, but as of late, Intel has more or less dusted itself
off from of its past problems and has pulled ahead in the processor
speed race and the gap is widening. Because of this, the enthusiast
tug of war which has been won by AMD is really starting to level out
and more and more AMD fans are abandoning their low overclocks from
their beloved thoroughbreds and bartons and are peeking over the fence
at the Intel crowds and are seeing better performance, better overclocks
and cooler systems enjoyed by many a Pentium 4 user.
