I ironically was in a Human geography class at university last year when the chaos errupted. I was calmly sitting in class when the teacher struck up a conversation on the topic and I was astonished . I remember the first thing that I thought was "They crashed a plane into the pentagon?", oh man, we are about to witness WWIII. Then I quickly ran down to the admissions office in the base of the building to watch the events on the 3 TV's they had installed. Well, needless to say, the whole room with over 200 student scampering around for school changes were motionless watching what was going on. People could not fathom what was going on!! Nor could they even MOVE.
The collective thinking was one based on astonishment, disbelief and the terrible feeling of helplessness as you see the events unfold without having any way to really help.
Fortress North America was breached and breached rather easily and the events that happen around the world usually are now happening on our doorstep. So, have we learnt something from this, well indeed we have. No longer can we trust the security of our government.
But, the humanity that used to be the basis of our North American population has been reinjected into the cold veins of corporate america and people, even in a small degree, care a little bit more for the person sitting beside them in the subway.
In closing, I would like to say, god bless "North America". May we never have to witness this action ever, ever again.
Life is just too short to be religiously pissed off at someone. _________________ Owner & Administrator

I lived in Pennsylvaina, about 10 miles from the Somerset crash site (I still live in PA, just closer to Pittsburgh now), and my mother was working about 3 miles from the crash site.
I remember calling her to make sure she was ok, and if she could see anything. She heard the plane fly over head as it was on its way down. She was histarical (sp).
I had people that I delt with that worked in tower #1. They didn't make it. They were on the 71st floor...
I was working on a system at a satelite building at the time of the first crash. I heard a woman with her walkman on say, "Oh my God, they think a plane hit one of the world trade center buildings"... I was walking by her at the time and didn't think anything of it.. I thought, that couldn't happen, things like that don't really happen. And becides, if it did, how bad could it be... you see planes crashing into buildings all the time in the movies (ok, not all the time... you get the jist) and nothing "major" comes of it. Then came the second, then the pentagon, then Somerset. Then the first building comes down, then the second. I remember looking at the "live footage" of the WTC on my PC at work on MSNBC.com (when I could get logged in) and thinking, "the top of that building is going to crash down", never thinking the entire building would follow.
And, to boot... It was my girlfriend's 30th birthday... _________________ Thanks in advance.....
