I ordered Geil PC4000 DDR500 and its timings are 2.5 7-4-4. Would I be succesful in overclockin over 3.3 ? or do i need lower latency ram?

Getting lower latency wouldn't improve your chances of raising the FSB...to my limited knwoledge.
I have Geil PC4000 Dual Platinum, and am currently running at FSB280, with divider 5:4, vdimm@2,9, vcore@1.675 ~ 3.365 Ghz
(dunno how stable it is yet though.. haven't done stress testing..)

A new test setup... was running FSB270 earlier, with vdimm@2,8 and vcore@1.600 ...
just playing around a bit again...

My CPU freaks out at 283FSB.. even with divider 3:2 ...so guess that is as high as it will go.

Overclocking like that requires good RAM, but is also highly dependent of the CPU itself... how high it will go..

A newbies low level advice - the end :)
